11th Street Bridge ramp to M Street SE closing overnight

July 25, 2012

An exit ramp from the westbound/inbound 11th Street Bridge will be closed overnight Wednesday so that the District Department of Transportation can re-stripe the lanes.

The exit ramp to M Street SE and the Navy Yard shuts down at 10 p.m., while the right lane on the westbound/inbound 11th Street Bridge will also close at 8 p.m. All lanes will reopen on Thursday at 5 a.m.

Drivers on the 11th Street Bridge heading to M Street SE or the Navy Yard will be detoured to the 8th Street SE exit, onto I (Eye) Street SE and then onto 8th Street SE.

This follows DDOT’s closure of the ramp from eastbound Pennsylvania Avenue to southbound DC-295. That ramp closes again on Thursday at 10 p.m. and reopens on Friday at 5:30 a.m. A detour in place there sends drivers onto Minnesota Avenue SE, westbound Pennsylvania Avenue SE and back to southbound DC-295.
