Northbound I-95 in Stafford reopened after overnight crash; residual delays expected

All northbound lanes on I-95 Virginia’s Stafford County have reopened after a tractor-trailer crash that caused a diesel spill late Tuesday night.

State police said residual delays are expected through the early morning. The northbound lanes of the highway were closed for several hours overnight, but partly reopened starting at 5 a.m. All lanes were open by 6:30 a.m.

The crash occurred at 11:32 p.m. Tuesday, Virginia State Police spokeswoman Corrine Geller said. The tractor-trailer jackknifed across the northbound lanes.

At least two vehicles were involved and two people were transported to nearby hospitals.
