A dry morning commute before rain moves in

8:40 A.M. Update:

A disabled vehicle on the outer loop of the Beltway before the Springfield Interchange is blocking the right lane.

Eastbound I-66 is backed up at the Teddy Roosevelt Bridge.

8:20 A.M. Update:

The accident in the 2700 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue SE has been cleared and all lanes reopened.

8:15 A.M. Update:

The accident on Annapolis Road at the inner loop of the Beltway has been cleared and all lanes reopened.

A disabled vehicle on the inner loop at the American Legion Bridge could cause issues there.

7:55 A.M. Update:

An accident in the 2700 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue SE is blocking one northbound lane and all southbound lanes. Avoid this stretch and expect delays.

The accident on I-95 North at the Prince William Parkway has been fully cleared and all lanes reopened.

7:50 A.M. Update:

Normal service has resumed on the Orange and Blue lines at Capitol South, according to Metro. Expect some residual delays.

The accident on eastbound I-66 at Chain Bridge Road has been cleared and the lane reopened.

7:45 A.M. Update:

The Blue and Orange Lines remain delayed due to the earlier train malfunction outside of the Capitol South station.

An accident on eastbound I-66 at Chain Bridge Road is blocking the right lane.

The accident on I-95 North at the Prince William Parkway has been moved to the left shoulder. The left lane and entrance ramp have reopened. The left lane of the access road to Route 3000 remains blocked.

An accident on northbound I-295 at the ramp for Firth Sterling Avenue is blocking the right lane, but not slowing traffic right now, according to D.C. police.

An accident on Annapolis Road is blocking the right off-ramp lanes at the inner loop of the Beltway.

7:30 A.M. Update:

The Blue and Orange Lines are going to be delayed due to a disabled train outside of the Capitol South station. Expect delays if you’re heading in the direction of Largo Town Center and New Carrollton.

The disabled vehicle on the outer loop of the Beltway at Chain Bridge Road has been cleared from the shoulder.

The accident on I-95 North in Lorton has also been cleared from the shoulder.

We’re keeping tabs on the morning rush hour, letting you know about any issues or delays that could slow your commute. The Capital Weather Gang forecast calls for rain later today, but it shouldn’t soak the region until after the morning commute.

Here’s our 7:15 a.m. update:

— An accident on I-95 North at the Prince William Parkway is blocking the left lane and entrance ramp. The left lane of the access road to Route 3000 is also blocked.

— Another accident on I-95 North — this one in Lorton, a few miles north of the Prince William Parkway accident — is blocking the right shoulder.

— A disabled vehicle on the outer loop of the Beltway at Chain Bridge Road is blocking the right shoulder.

— An accident on the inner loop of the Beltway at Braddock Road is blocking the right shoulder.
