AAA: Average gas price jumps 10 cents

Gas prices jumped by 10 cents in the Washington region in the past week, bringing the average cost of a gallon of regular to $3.62, according to the American Automobile Association’s weekly survey.

The increase mirrored what was happening across the nation, which saw an average 11 cent jump to $3.62 a gallon. The bump was higher in the District, where a 12-cent increase brought the average to $3.87 per gallon. Prices locally and national had been stable during the last two weeks in March, the AAA said.
