Accident snarls Va. I-95 N.

8:30 A.M. Update:

An accident has snarled traffic on I-95 North at the Springfield mixing bowl before the Capital Beltway. Only one lane gets by.

Traffic is jammed due to congestion on I-95 South through Prince William County.

8 A.M. Update:

The earlier accident heading north on the Baltimore Washington Parkway at Route 202 is on the right shoulder.

Traffic is jammed due to congestion on I-66 East in Fairfax County.

7:30 A.M. Update:

Two accidents so far in Maryland: one northbound on the Baltimore Washington Parkway at Route 202. Traffic backs up to Edsall Road there. Another on eastbound Route 32 at I-95 in Howard County.

7 A.M. Update:

Traffic is jammed due to congestion on I-395 North after Duke Street in Alexandria. Expect delays.

6:30 A.M. Update:

An accident is being reported on Route 28 at Route 606 in Loudoun County.

The earlier accident on I-495 South at Braddock Road has been cleared.

Good morning everyone,

We’re keeping track of the morning commute and any traffic issues that come up as we head into the holiday weekend.

So far:

A tractor trailer accident is blocking the right shoulder of I-495 South between Braddock Road and Little River Turnpike. Expect possible delays. Elsewhere our roads are getting a break this morning as we head into a long weekend. Traffic is moving smoothly on I-66, I-270 and I-395/I-95.
