Delays on I-395 North, I-66 East, I-95 North

8:45 A.M. Update:

Now there’s debris in the road on westbound U.S. 50 at U.S. 301. One westbound lane and one of the shoulders are blocked.

I-66 East remains backed up approaching the Beltway, while I-95 North is crowded before the Springfield Interchange.

A tractor trailer accident on the inner loop of the Beltway at Arlington Boulevard is blocking the left shoulder.

An accident on northbound I-395 at King Street is now blocking the right shoulder, while the right center lane also remains blocked at that spot.

I-395 North is fairly congested at multiple points, so expect delays if you’re taking that route.

8:25 A.M. Update:

All lanes have reopened on eastbound U.S. 50 at U.S. 301. As always, expect residual delays as the backed up traffic makes its way through the area, but the lanes are open.

The accident on northbound I-395 at Edsall Road has been cleared and the lane reopened.

8:15 A.M. Update:

An accident on northbound I-395 is blocking the right center lane at King Street.

I-66 East is still backed up approaching the Beltway, while I-95 North is sluggish before the Springfield Interchange.

The accident on eastbound U.S. 50 is still blocking all eastbound lanes at U.S. 301.

The accident on the outer loop of the Beltway at Greenbelt Road/MD 193 has been cleared.

7:55 A.M. Update:

An accident is blocking all lanes of eastbound U.S. 50 at U.S. 301. If you are heading out that way, take Annapolis Road or Central Avenue as alternate routes.

7:35 A.M. Update:

The debris on MD 210/Indian Head Highway has been cleared and the lane reopened.

An accident on the outer loop of the Beltway at Greenbelt Road/MD 193 could cause major traffic headaches there.

There’s an accident on northbound I-395 blocking the left lane at Edsall Road.

7:05 A.M. Update:

Debris in the road on MD 210/Indian Head Highway before the Beltway is blocking one southbound lane.

The Beltway lanes have reopened south of Braddock Road. There are delays on the inner loop approaching Gallows Road.

6:40 A.M. Update:

An accident on the outer loop of the Beltway south of the Braddock Road exit is blocking the right center lane and right lane.

6:20 A.M. Update:

The accident on the outer loop of the Beltway has been cleared and the lane reopened.

Congestion is starting to develop on eastbound I-66 at Sudley Road and Chain Bridge Road as well as on northbound I-95 North in Woodbridge. These are spots where delays only get worse, not better.

Original Post:

Good morning, commuters! Showers move through the region this morning, according to the Capital Weather Gang, meaning this commute will be chillier and wetter than we’ve seen in a little while.

We’ll be rounding up any headaches, issues or problems we hear about on the roads this morning. Let us know anything you see out there — tell us in the comments below or via Twitter (@DrGridlock).
