Beltway lane closings curtailed

Tonight’s scheduled closing of the three right lanes of the Capital Beltway’s inner loop in Tysons Corner has been canceled. While rain is in the forecast for tonight, the cancellation occurred because the Dulles Metrorail project doesn’t need to take those lanes for its overnight work.

Crews continue to work on building bridges that will eventually take the new rail line over the Beltway at Route 123. On most nights during the past several weeks, the three Beltway lanes below have been closed for safety. That work is scheduled to resume at 11 p.m. Wednesday, continuing as usual till 5 a.m. Thursday.

Also canceled for tonight is the scheduled full closing of southbound Route 123 at the Dulles Connector Road (Route 267). Workers still will close one lane.

The exit ramp from the eastbound Dulles Connector Road to southbound Route 123 also will be closed tonight.
