Benefit run to close Pennsylvania Ave.

The Scope It Out Run/Walk for Colon Cancer Awareness will cause closures along Pennsylvania Avenue on Sunday. The race begins and ends at Freedom Plaza.

Authorities said Pennsylvania will be closed from 12th to 14th streets from 5 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Rolling road closures will take place from Third to 12th streets, but should be completed by noon.

Organizers estimate more than 4,000 people will participate.
