Bus bay closed at Friendship Heights

[This post has been updated]

The bus bay area at Friendship Heights will be closed through the weekend because a sprinkler system was activated, Metro said.

Metro said it has employees on hand to direct customers.

Buses on the 30 and N lines will board in the 5400 block of Wisconsin Avenue NW. The E6 buses will stop at the E2/E4 bus stops.

Metro spokesman Dan Stessel said officials are examining how the sprinkler system was activated. They believe it was a system malfunction, he said.

Nine bus routes stop within the Friendship Heights terminal. Those buses will pick passengers up on the nearby street.
