Cool and chilly morning commute

9:15 A.M. Update:

The accident on southbound Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue has been cleared and all lanes reopened.

An accident on the inner loop of the Beltway at I-66 is blocking the right lane.

8:55 A.M. Update:

An accident on southbound Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue is blocking the street between Talbert Street and Howard Road in Southeast. Avoid the area.

Westbound U.S. 50 has reopened.

An accident on the inner loop at Old Georgetown Road is blocking one of the shoulders.

8:30 A.M. Update:

There are minor backups on I-66 East at the Beltway.

8 A.M. Update:

There’s a disabled vehicle on I-95 South near Telegraph Road, and it’s blocking the right shoulder of the local lanes. Expect headaches approaching this spot.

An accident on I-95 North near Lorton is blocking the right lane and right shoulder.

I-395 North is jammed up at the 14th Street Bridge.

Westbound U.S. 50 is blocked at MD 201/Anacostia Freeway. Expect big, big problems if you’re heading out that way.

7:30A.M. Update:

The same delays remain on the inner loop of the Beltway and on I-395 North in Virginia.

7:05 A.M. Update:

There are inner loop delays approaching Gallows Road. Delays remain on I-395 North between the Beltway and Duke Street.

6:45 A.M. Update:

There are delays on I-395 North at Duke Street.

6:30 A.M. Update:

The disabled vehicle has been cleared from the Beltway in Maryland.

Good morning, commuters! It’s April Fool’s Day, but we will try to stick only to pertinent news as well as occasional reports claiming Facebook is shutting down at the end of the day. Seriously, there will be no jokes or pranks here: just the traffic. It’s going to be a cool and occasionally rainy morning. We’ll be keeping tabs on headaches throughout the morning rush, so check back regularly. And make sure to let us know what you see in the comments below or on Twitter (@DrGridlock).

So far: A disabled vehicle on the outer loop of the Beltway before Georgia Avenue. It’s on the shoulder, but it could cause delays.
