D.C. streets to close for weekend IMF/World Bank meetings

The International Monetary Fund and World Bank spring meetings are scheduled for this weekend in the District. Traffic congestion is likely to occur on the streets west of the White House. Street closings will start about 7:30 p.m. Friday and continue till about 5 p.m. Sunday.

These are the streets to be closed:

* 18th Street NW from G Street to Pennsylvania Avenue NW

* 19th Street NW from G Street to Pennsylvania Avenue NW

* 20th Street NW from G Street to Pennsylvania Avenue NW

* G Street from 18th to 20th streets NW

* H Street (southern side) from 18th to 20th streets NW

Streets that lead to these closed streets may be restricted to local traffic only. Also, police can close other streets or alter the schedule at their discretion.

Parking also will be restricted in the area around the meetings.

Parking restrictions

These are the streets around the IMF/World Bank complex where parking will be banned from 3 p.m. Friday till 4 p.m. Sunday:

* 18th Street from G Street to Pennsylvania Avenue NW

* 19th Street from G Street to Pennsylvania Avenue NW

* 20th Street from G Street to Pennsylvania Avenue NW

* G Street from 18th to 20th streets NW

* H Street (southern side) from 18th to 20th streets NW

* Pennsylvania Avenue from 18th to 20th streets NW

These are the areas where parking will be banned from 7 p.m. Friday till 4 p.m. Sunday:

* 600 block of 18th Street NW

* 600 block of 19th Street NW

* 600 block of 20th Street NW

* 2000 block of H Street NW

* 1700 block of G Street NW

* 2000 block of G Street NW
