Rainy, slow A.M. commute

8:35 A.M. Update:

The accident at Minnesota Avenue and Nash Place in Southeast Washington should cause traffic issues for at least a little while, so avoid that immediate area.

Expect additional traffic on the northbound 14th Street Bridge due to an accident there.

An accident on eastbound I-66 at the Beltway is blocking the right shoulder. This won’t help the usual heavy delays at this spot.

8:20 A.M. Update:

An accident involving a bus at Minnesota Avenue and Nash Place in Southeast Washington could cause traffic issues, according to the D.C. Fire and EMS Department.

And an accident on the northbound 14th Street Bridge should cause additional problems there.

8:10 A.M. Update:

The accident on Pennsylvania Avenue/MD 4 after the Beltway is now blocking one southbound lane. All northbound lanes are now open.

8:05 A.M. Update:

An accident on Pennsylvania Avenue/MD 4 after the Beltway is blocking the northbound lanes there.

And an accident on northbound I-295 near the Sousa Bridge could cause delays there.

7:45 A.M. Update:

The accident on I-95 North in Lorton has been cleared from the shoulder. Expect delays to linger in this stretch.

7:30 A.M. Update:

The accident on the outer loop of the Beltway near U.S. 1 in Maryland has been cleared from the shoulder.

Meanwhile, the accident on I-95 North in Lorton is now only blocking the shoulder. There are heavy delays approaching this spot

7:20 A.M. Update:

The accident on the outer loop of the Beltway near U.S. 1 in Maryland is now only blocking one of the shoulders.

7:10 A.M. Update:

The accident on the inner loop of the Beltway at Eisenhower Avenue has been cleared and all of the lanes reopened.

Meanwhile, the accident on I-95 North in Lorton is now blocking the left lane, left center lane and left shoulder.

7 A.M. Update:

An accident on the outer loop of the Beltway at U.S. 1 in Maryland is blocking three outer loop lanes.

The accident on the inner loop of the Beltway at Eisenhower Avenue is now blocking the left and center lanes.

6:50A.M. Update:

There are very heavy delays on I-95 North approaching Lorton, on the inner loop of the Beltway approaching Eisenhower Avenue and on eastbound I-66 approaching the Beltway.

An accident on I-95 North near the Fairfax County Parkway, which is blocking the left shoulder, is also causing some backups approaching this area.

6:30 A.M. Update:

An accident on I-95 North in Lorton is blocking the left lane and left shoulder.

6:20 A.M. Update:

An accident on the inner loop of the Beltway at Eisenhower Avenue is blocking the left lane.

Good morning, commuters! We’re in for a muggy day filled with showers and storms, according to the Capital Weather Gang. As always, rain and storms during the morning commute could cause serious delays and congestion out there. Add extra time to your commute this morning.

So far:

A disabled vehicle on the inner loop of the Beltway at Georgetown Pike is blocking the right shoulder shortly before the G.W. Parkway.

There’s also a disabled vehicle on eastbound I-66, blocking the right shoulder at the Beltway.
