Eastbound U.S. 50 reopens in Chantilly

8:45 A.M. Update:

Eastbound U.S. 50 has reopened in Chantilly. It has been blocked for much of the morning commute, so drivers going to that area are likely still going to find residual delays.

8:30 A.M. Update:

A downed tree at 16th Street and Military Road in Northwest Washington could cause traffic problems.

The accident on U.S. 50 is still blocking all eastbound lanes in Chantilly; traffic is being diverted through the Chantilly Plaza shopping center.

8:15 A.M. Update:

An accident in the 3100 block of Alabama Avenue in Southeast Washington could cause problems there.

There’s a disabled vehicle on the 14th Street Bridge; the direction is unknown right now, so expect potential delays heading either way right now.

An accident at 4th and G streets in Southwest Washington could also cause some traffic problems.

The accident on I-95 South before Landover Road has been cleared and all lanes reopened.

7:45 A.M. Update:

The accident on I-95 South before Landover Road/MD 202 is now just blocking one southbound lane and one of the shoulders.

7:35 A.M. Update:

There’s a disabled vehicle in the 5100 block of Wisconsin Avenue in Northwest Washington.

An accident on I-95 South before Landover Road/MD 202 is blocking two southbound lanes and one of the shoulders.

The accident on U.S. 50 is still blocking all eastbound lanes in Chantilly; traffic is being diverted through the Chantilly Plaza shopping center, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

7:15 A.M. Update:

An accident on eastbound U.S. 50 near Lees Corner Road in Chantilly is blocking the eastbound lanes. Expect big delays approaching this spot.

And an accident on northbound I-395 before 6th Street could cause delays there.

The delays on the inner loop near Gallows Road are getting worse. This will likely remain congested through the morning commute.

6:50 A.M. Update:

The inner loop of the Beltway is congested near Gallows Road.

I-395 North is also delayed around Seminary Road and Duke Street.

That disabled vehicle on the northbound Baltimore-Washington Parkway has been cleaed.

6:25 A.M. Update:

I-95 North is backed up around Woodbridge. Eastbound I-66 is also starting to slow approaching the Beltway.

Good morning, commuters. If you enjoy sweltering heat, savor today’s weather, because cooler and drier air is coming our way. For today, make sure to stay hydrated if you’re walking to the Metro or to and from work.

A disabled vehicle on the northbound Baltimore-Washington Parkway at Landover Road/MD 202 is blocking the right shoulder. This could cause some delays.
