Getting to soccer at FedEx Field

Manchester United and FC Barcelona play at FedEx Field starting at 7 o’clock tonight, and that’s going to jam highways and avenues around Landover.

Avoid the traffic by taking Metro’s Blue Line to the Morgan Boulevard station and walking north along a sidewalk for about a mile. Note that Metro is doing maintenance work on the Blue Line this weekend. Trains will share a track between Stadium-Armory and Addison Road. The trains are scheduled to operate about every 24 minutes, but there will be delays through the work zone.

Every line but the Green Line has maintenance work this weekend. Metrorail will be operating until 3 a.m. Sunday.

For drivers going to games at FedEx, the Maryland State Highway Administration says the Capital Beltway exit at Central Avenue is usually the least crowded of the three Beltway exits that fans use for the stadium. The others are Arena Drive and Landover Road.
