Overturned beer truck blocking I-270 North at Old Hundred Road

8:50 A.M. Update:

Northbound I-270 remains blocked north of Old Hundred Road/MD 109 due to an overturned beer truck. Traffic can get by on the right shoulder, but there are heavy delays in both directions.

The accident on eastbound Dulles Toll Road before the Leesburg Pike exit has been cleared and the lanes reopened.

8:35 A.M. Update:

An accident on eastbound Dulles Toll Road before the Leesburg Pike exit is blocking the two left lanes and creating heavy delays.

8:15 A.M. Update:

A disabled vehicle on I-66 East before Chain Bridge Road is blocking the right lane.

An accident on westbound U.S. 50 near Annandale Road is blocking the left lane.

8:05 A.M. Update:

The accident on the inner loop before New Hampshire Avenue has been cleared.

7:45 A.M. Update:

The disabled vehicle on the inner loop of the Beltway before New Hampshire Avenue has been cleared.

There’s also an accident on the inner loop before New Hampshire Avenue, but no lane closures have been reported yet.

7:10 A.M. Update:

MARC Brunswick Line train 874 is running 8 to 10 minutes late.

6:45 A.M. Update:

Northbound I-270 remains blocked north of Old Hundred Road/MD 109 due to an overturned beer truck that spilled beer onto the roadway, according to the Maryland State Police in Frederick.

The truck overturned at about 4 a.m. There’s no timetable yet for when the road will reopen.

Traffic can only get by on the right shoulder, while southbound traffic is also delayed as people slow down to eyeball the scene.

6:40 A.M. Update:

The accident on I-270 North continues to block the northbound lanes after Old Hundred Road/MD 109. Traffic can get by on the right shoulder, but there are heavy delays in both directions.

6:20 A.M. Update:

The disabled vehicle on the inner loop of the Beltway before New Hampshire Avenue is now back to blocking one inner loop lane and one of the shoulders.

5:55 A.M. Update:

The disabled vehicle on the inner loop of the Beltway before New Hampshire Avenue is now blocking two inner loop lanes.

Good morning, commuters! We’ll be keeping an eye on the roads and rails this morning, reporting any delays or issues — and we will need your help.

Thursday begins with warm temperatures before getting really hot this afternoon, according to the Capital Weather Gang.

So far this morning:

— An accident on I-270 North is blocking the northbound lanes after Old Hundred Road/MD 109. Traffic can only get by on the right shoulder. There are heavy northbound delays, with southbound congestion as well due to rubber-necking.

— A disabled vehicle on the inner loop of the Beltway before New Hampshire Avenue is blocking one inner loop lane and one of the shoulders.

— Also: The International AIDS Conference at the Washington Convention Center continues all week. The conference could impact traffic around the convention center and increase congestion on the Metro, with crowding possible at the Mount Vernon Sq/Convention Center and Gallery Place/Chinatown stops.
