I-395 North lanes reopened at Edsall Road

8:45 A.M. Update:

The accident is still blocking Powder Mill Road in both directions before Laurel Bowie Road/MD 197 in Laurel.

I-395 North is heavily backed up at the 14th Street Bridge.

Police activity around 9th Street and Maryland Avenue continues to snarl the roads in that area of Northeast Washington. Avoid the surrounding area, particularly 9th Street near E and F streets and 8th Street at Maryland Avenue.

An accident on Massachusetts Avenue at Garfield Street NW could cause problems there.

H Street is blocked between 46th Place and 46th Street SE due to a potential water main break in the area.

8:25 A.M. Update:

An accident on South Dakota Avenue and Monroe Street NE could cause problems there.

Watch out for delays stemming from an accident on North Capitol and Bates streets NW.

There are also accidents reported on 12th and K streets NW, 3rd and Kennedy streets NW and Pennsylvania and Minnesota avenues SE.

Maggie Fazeli Ford has more on the police chase that caused delays on I-395 North at the Edsall Road exit this morning.

8:05 A.M. Update:

The accident on I-395 North at Edsall Road has been cleared and the exit ramp reopened.

Traffic signals are reportedly flashing at 6th Street and Florida Avenue NE.

7:50 A.M. Update:

There’s police activity around 9th Street and Maryland Avenue in Northeast Washington. The following roads are closed, according to the Metropolitan Police Department: 9th and E streets, 9th and D streets, 9th Street and Maryland Avenue and 10th Street and Maryland Avenue.

7:35 A.M. Update:

An accident is blocking Powder Mill Road in both directions before Laurel Bowie Road/MD 197 in Laurel.

The accident on the eastbound Intercounty Connector before the Georgia Avenue exit has been cleared.

7:15 A.M. Update:

The accident on southbound B.W. Parkway at Laurel Bowie Road/MD 197 has been cleared and all southbound lanes and shoulders reopened.

A disabled vehicle on the outer loop of the Beltway at Arlington Boulevard is blocking the right shoulder.

7 A.M. Update:

The accident on I-395 North at the Edsall Road exit is no longer blocking the right lane and right shoulder. The exit ramp at exit 2A remains closed.

The accident on southbound B.W. Parkway at Laurel Bowie Road/MD 197 is now blocking one southbound lane and one of the shoulders.

An accident on the eastbound Intercounty Connector is blocking one lane and one of the shoulders before the Georgia Avenue exit.

6:40 A.M. Update:

An accident on southbound B.W. Parkway at Laurel Bowie Road/MD 197 is now on the shoulder.

6:35 A.M. Update:

An accident on southbound B.W. Parkway at Laurel Bowie Road/MD 197 is blocking one southbound lane.

I-66 East is heavily congested approaching Chain Bridge Road.

I-95 North is now pretty backed up in Woodbridge.

Good morning, commuters! We’re in for a warmer day today, with showers likely later on in the day, according to the Capital Weather Gang. So far:

— An accident on I-395 North at the Edsall Road exit is blocking the right lane, right shoulder and exit 2A.

— I-95 North is already backed up approaching the Springfield Interchange.

— A disabled vehicle on the outer loop of the Beltway is blocking the right shoulder near the G.W. Parkway.
