Delays on inner loop, I-66 East in VA

8:30 A.M. Update:

The accident on southbound I-270 at Falls Road is blocking one southbound lane, one southbound local lane and two of the southbound shoulders. Expect delays.

Eastbound I-66 is very backed up approaching the Teddy Roosevelt Bridge.

The inner loop remains typically backed up around I-66 this morning.

8:20 A.M. Update:

Police activity at Suitland Parkway and Stanton Road SE could cause delays.

An accident on I-270 South before Falls Road will likely slow southbound traffic.

Traffic signals are reportedly flashing at 14th and Newton streets NW. Use caution.

Watch out for delays caused by a disabled vehicle on Kenilworth and Nannie Helen Burroughs avenues NE.

8 A.M. Update:

An accident on 7th Street and Independence Avenue SW could cause big delays around there.

There are also accidents reported at Alabama Avenue and Q Street in SE and at 23rd and F Streets NW.

7:40 A.M. Update:

The traffic signal is reportedly out at 4th Street and Adams Drive in Southwest Washington. Use caution.

An accident on eastbound I-66 before the Beltway is blocking the left and right shoulders, so expect some delays between Chain Bridge Road and the Beltway.

The debris on the inner loop of the Beltway at the American Legion Bridge has been cleared.

7:20 A.M. Update:

Eastbound New York Avenue is backed up before Florida Avenue due to a charter bus blocking a lane, according to the D.C. police.

An accident on I-395 North at Duke Street is blocking the right shoulder.

7 A.M. Update:

A disabled vehicle on the inner loop of the Beltway before I-66 is blocking the right shoulder.

The debris on the Beltway at the American Legion Bridge is on the inner loop, so expect potential delays there.

6:40 A.M. Update:

The inner loop of the Beltway is beginning to slow down around Gallows Road.

I-95 North is backed up around Occoquan and again around the Fairfax County Parkway.

The accident on eastbound I-66 at the Beltway has been cleared from the shoulder, and the disabled vehicle on the outer loop of the Beltway at Chain Bridge Road has been cleared from the shoulder.

6:20 A.M. Update:

There’s some debris on the Beltway at the American Legion Bridge. Expect delays there.

An accident on I-95 South after the exit for Pennsylvania Avenue is blocking both shoulders.

Good morning, commuters! Today should be a cloudy day, with possible showers in the morning and likely rain in the afternoon, according to the Capital Weather Gang.

We’ll be keeping an eye on the roads and rails this morning, reporting any delays or issues — and we will need your help: If you hear about any congestion, delays, problems or anything at all, tell us in the comments section below or by tweeting @drgridlock.

So far:

— An accident on eastbound I-66 at the Beltway is blocking the right shoulder.

— A disabled vehicle on the outer loop of the Beltway at Chain Bridge Road is blocking the right shoulder.

— I-95 North is congested approaching Dale City.

— All VRE trains are running on time right now.

— The MARC tracking system is down and not working, but all trains are currently running on time, according to the Maryland Transit Administration.
