I-66 East jammed in VA

8:30 A.M. Update:

There are still bad delays on I-66 East approaching Chain Bridge Road.

An accident on I-270 South before the Beltway is blocking one of the shoulders and could cause additional backups.

An accident at 18th Street and Montana Avenue in Northeast could cause problems in that spot, so avoid that intersection.

7:45 A.M. Update:

The accident on the eastbound Dulles Toll Road has been cleared and the lanes reopened. Expect some residual delays approaching the Dulles Access Road, but all lanes are clear.

And the accident on eastbound I-66 near Lee Jackson Highway has been cleared from the shoulder, so traffic should be clearing out in that area.

7:25 A.M. Update:

The accident on the eastbound Dulles Toll Road near the ramp to the Dulles Access Road is still blocking the center lane, right lane and right shoulder.

There’s an accident reported at 11th and F streets in Northwest Washington, so expect headaches approaching that spot.

A disabled vehicle in the 3600 block of New York Avenue in Northeast could also cause problems, so try to avoid that spot if possible.

7:05 A.M. Update:

An accident on the eastbound Dulles Toll Road near the ramp to the Dulles Access Road is blocking the center lane, right lane and right shoulder. Expect delays for eastbound traffic.

I-66 East is very, very backed up at Chain Bridge Road.

I-395 North is also congested approaching King Street.

6:45 A.M. Update:

There’s an accident on eastbound I-66 near Lee Jackson Highway. Two lanes were closed earlier, although only the shoulder appears blocked right now. In any event, this is causing delays.

The accident on I-95 North has cleared and the lanes reopened.

6:20 A.M. Update:

The accident on I-95 North in Triangle is still blocking the left lane and left shoulder. There are backups approaching this spot.

There are also delays on I-66 East approaching Chain Bridge road.
