I-95 speed cameras that were part of ICC work zone are gone

The speed cameras on Interstate 95 put in place as part of the Intercounty Connector work zone are gone, Maryland highway officials said Wednesday.

The cameras were removed two weeks ago as construction on the ICC is wrapping up, officials said. Maryland law allows speed cameras on highways only to protect work crews in construction zones.

The full ICC between Interstate 370 in Gaithersburg and Interstate 95 in Laurel is scheduled to open Nov. 22.
