Inner loop snarled at I-66

8:45 A.M. Update:

I-66 East is congested at the Beltway, but the backups aren’t as bad as they usually are at this time of the morning. However, an accident on the right shoulder of I-66 East at Chain Bridge road seems to be causing some congestion there.

The outer loop of the Beltway has been very troubled near Tysons Corner recently, but it actually looks like traffic is flowing smoothy in this spot right now.

The same can’t be said for the inner loop of the Beltway, which is a mess approaching I-66.

The outer loop is typically congested near the University Boulevard exit.

I-270 South seems to be moving smoothly towards the I-270 Spur.

8:20 A.M. Update:

The lanes have reopened on I-395 North at Duke Street, but there’s still congestion around that spot.

8 A.M. Update:

The leak at 1st and D streets in Northeast Washington has been contained, according to the D.C. Fire Department. There could still be a traffic impact, so avoid that immediate area.

7:45 A.M. Update:

There’s a fuel spill at 1st and D streets in Northeast Washington, according to the D.C. Fire Department. They are reporting that it’s an underground tank, but there could be traffic issues in the area so try and avoid that spot.

7:30 A.M. Update:

The accident on I-395 North at Duke Street is still blocking the left lane and left shoulder.

7:10 A.M. Update:

An accident in the 1500 block of New York Avenue in Northeast Washington could snarl traffic. This is just west of Montana Avenue, so westbound commuters could find big problems well before the bridge reconstruction.

6:55 A.M. Update:

There’s some debris on the inner loop of the Beltway before the exit for New Hampshire Avenue, which could delay inner loop traffic.

An accident on I-395 North at the Duke Street exit is blocking the left lane and left shoulder.

6:35 A.M. Update:

An accident on eastbound I-66 at the Beltway is blocking the right shoulder, which could cause some delays there.

6:25 A.M. Update:

Eastbound I-66 is backed up around Sudley Road right now.

So far:

There’s a disabled vehicle on the inner loop of the Beltway at I-66. It's blocking the right shoulder and could cause some deays.
