Keeping tabs on the Monday morning commute

8:30 A.M. Update:

The inner loop of the Beltway is pretty slow approaching I-66.

The outer loop of the Beltway remains a slog around University Boulevard.

The debris on Montrose Road at I-270 isn’t blocking any lanes, but it could cause some issues for traffic in both directions.

8:20 A.M. Update:

There are delays at some of the usual spots: I-395 North approaching the 14th Street Bridge, the outer loop of the Beltway near University Boulevard and the inner loop approaching I-66.

8 A.M. Update:

The accident on I-66 East at Sully Road in Centreville has been cleared from the shoulder.

7:45 A.M. Update:

Some debris on Montrose Road at I-270 could cause issues there, but again, no lanes have been reported closed just yet.

The accident on I-270 South has been cleared.

7:25 A.M. Update:

A disabled vehicle on the inner loop of the Beltway before Braddock Road is blocking the right shoulder.

An accident on southbound I-270 at W. Gude Drive could cause issues, but no lane closures have been reported yet.

7:05 A.M. Update:

Traffic on I-95 North is still very, very slow approaching the Springfield Interchange. The left shoulder is still blocked by that earlier accident, but the right lane has reopened.

6:50 A.M. Update:

An accident on I-66 East at Sully Road in Centreville is blocking the right shoulder.

The accident on I-95 North at the Springfield Interchange is now just blocking the left lane. The right lane and right shoulder have reopened.

6:35 A.M. Update:

The accident on I-95 North at the Springfield Interchange is still blocking the right lane and right shoulder. This is causing very heavy delays approaching the interchange, so expect problems heading this way.

6:15 A.M. Update:

An accident on I-95 North at the Springfield Interchange is blocking the right lane and right shoulder.

Original Post:

Good morning, commuters! We’ll be keeping an eye on the roads and rails this morning, reporting any delays or issues — and we will need your help. If you hear about any congestion, delays, problems or anything at all, tell us in the comments section below or by tweeting @drgridlock.

It’s a chillier morning commute than we’ve had in several days, according to the Capital Weather Gang, with plenty of sunshine and also plenty of wind.
