Md. MVA launches emergency contact registry

The Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration began offering a new service this month, allowing people who hold a driver’s license or state ID card to register emergency contacts in a database.

The information will be accessible by authorities in case of an emergency, officials said.

The information can be registered online or at MVA kiosks. Users can provide names, addresses and telephone numbers for up to three emergency contacts.
