Metro rider group looking for more members

Metro needs riders with disabilities and people 65 and older to serve on its Accessibility Advisory Committee.

The 20-member committee has six members each from Maryland, Virginia and the District, plus two at-large members. Positions are available for residents from the District, Alexandria and Prince George’s, Montgomery, Fairfax, Arlington counties.

The positions are unpaid.

The Accessibility Advisory Committee recently has been active in expressing concerns to Metro about proposed fare hikes and the impact on those with disabilities who may be living on fixed incomes.

To apply, you can complete an application on Metro’s Web site or call 202-962-1100. The deadline to apply is April 29.
