Metro seeks members for Accessibility Advisory Committee

Metro has 14 positions available on its Accessibility Advisory Committee, which advises the transit authority on ways to improve its transit services.

The committee normally consists of 20 riders with disabilities or senior citizens, with two at-large members and six members each from the District, Maryland and Virginia. Positions are unpaid, and candidates cannot be elected officials or Metro workers or contractors.

Metro said the current vacancies are available for people from Alexandria, Arlington County, the District, Fairfax County, Montgomery County and Prince George’s County.

Applications are available online; at Metro headquarters, 600 Fifth St. in Northwest Washington; by calling 202-962-6060; or at Metro sales centers at Anacostia, Pentagon and Metro Center stations.

The deadline to apply is by 5 p.m. April 21.
