Metro Transit Police arrest suspect in Suitland station armed robberies

Metro Transit Police have arrested a 22-year-old Suitland man for his alleged role in a series of armed robberies in the parking garage at Suitland station, authorities said.

Detectives linked Michael Deon McIntosh to “at least four robberies within the Suitland station parking garage in recent months,” police said.

According to authorities, McIntosh approached customers, displayed a gun, and “demanded property.”

Metro said no one was injured in any of the incidents.

Police said officers arrested McIntosh Oct. 16 aboard a Green Line train at the Waterfront station. He was taken into custody after “an armed robbery at a business near the U Street Metro station,” Metro said.

McIntosh matched a suspect description provided by D.C.’s Metropolitan Police, authorities said.

Several victims of the Suitland garage incidents positively identified McIntosh, Metro said.

Additional charges are pending.

Metro Transit Police said they “routinely work with local police agencies to enhance the security of riders.” Local police departments help patrol parking lots, stations and bus areas.
