Some delays on I-66 East, I-395 North

8:30 A.M. Update:

Eastbound I-66 remains congested approaching the Beltway, but presumably because it’s a holiday weekend and some people are taking off early, delays aren’t as horrific as they typically would be at this time of the morning.

There’s also a little congestion on the 14th Street Bridge heading into the District, but again, traffic is far lighter than it usually would be at this time of day.

The accident on eastbound I-66 at Glebe Road has been cleared from the right shoulder of the on-ramp from Glebe Road.

And the disabled vehicle on the outer loop of the Beltway has been cleared from the right shoulder at Arlington Boulevard.

Meanwhile, the accident on the inner loop of the Beltway before Braddock Road is still blocking the left shoulder.

8:05 A.M. Update:

An accident on eastbound I-66 at Glebe Road is blocking the right shoulder of the on-ramp from Glebe Road.

An accident on the inner loop of the Beltway before Braddock Road is blocking the left shoulder.

7:40 A.M. Update:

A disabled vehicle on the outer loop of the Beltway is blocking the right shoulder at Arlington Boulevard.

7:25 A.M. Update:

Traffic on eastbound I-66 is pretty sluggish approaching the Beltway, so expect delays once you pass Nutley Street.

7:05 A.M. Update:

The accident on westbound I-66 has been cleared from the exit ramp at Chain Bridge Road. The exit ramp has reopened.

And the disabled vehicle on the outer loop of the Beltway has been cleared from the right shoulder at Braddock Road.

Drivers on the inner loop of the Beltway are encountering some congestion at Gallows Road.

6:45 A.M. Update:

A disabled vehicle on the outer loop of the Beltway is blocking the right shoulder at Braddock Road.

The accident on westbound I-66 is still blocking the exit ramp at Chain Bridge Road. This is causing minor delays approaching this area, but nothing too bad at this point.

6:25 A.M. Update:

An accident on westbound I-66 is blocking the exit ramp at Chain Bridge Road.

Original Post:

Good morning, commuters. Summer makes a “comeback” for the last day before the holiday weekend, according to the Capital Weather Gang. That’s a nice way of saying it’ll be pretty warm out there.

We’ll be keeping an eye on the roads and rails this morning, reporting any delays or issues. We will need your help: If you hear about any congestion, delays, problems or anything at all, tell us in the comments section below or by tweeting @drgridlock.
