MLK Ave SW blocked between Elmira, Darrington streets

8:45 A.M. Update:

D.C. police report that Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue has reopened.

8:30 A.M. Update:

Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue remains blocked in both directions between Elmira and Darrington streets in Southwest Washington due to an earlier accident. Avoid this area.

An accident on the outer loop of the Beltway at Gallows Road is blocking the shoulder and could cause delays there.

8:10 A.M. Update:

The accident on I-395 North at Duke Street has been cleared from the right lane and right shoulder.

8 A.M. Update:

An accident on North Capitol Street and Rock Creek Church Road NW could cause delays there, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

7:50 A.M. Update:

Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue remains blocked in both directions between Elmira and Darrington streets in Southwest Washington. Avoid this area.

An accident on I-395 North at Duke Street is blocking the right lane and right shoulder.

7:30 A.M. Update:

An accident in the 4300 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue SW will cause traffic issues there. Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue is blocked in both directions between Elmira and Darrington streets, according to the Metropolitan Police Department. Avoid this area.

The accident on I-270 South to the south of West Montgomery Avenue has been cleared.

7:10 A.M. Update:

An accident on I-270 South to the south of West Montgomery Avenue could cause problems there.

There’s also an accident on I-395 North at Duke Street on the right shoulder.

6:45 A.M. Update:

An accident in the 4800 block of North Capitol Street NE is slowing traffic in both directions, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

6:20 A.M. Update:

The debris in the road on eastbound U.S. 50 at the Beltway has been cleared.

Good morning, commuters! It’s going to be a cool, cloudy and breezy day, according to the Capital Weather Gang. But at least no rain is expected for a while.
