Outer loop slow at Kenilworth Avenue after earlier accident

8:45 A.M. Update:

The outer loop of the Beltway is still delayed approaching Kenilworth Avenue. The earlier accident has been cleared and the off-ramp reopened, but delays remain.

An accident on I-95 South at the Intercounty Connector could cause delays for southbound traffic.

8:35 A.M. Update:

The outer loop of the Beltway is still delayed approaching Greenbelt due to the accident at Kenilworth Avenue, but the off-ramp has reopened. Again, heavy delays remain heading that way.

8:10 A.M. Update:

There’s debris on the inner loop now at Central Avenue. Same story as before: No lanes are reportedly blocked, but this could cause headaches around that spot. (There’s still debris on the inner loop of the Beltway at Annapolis Road.)

A disabled vehicle on eastbound I-66 is blocking the right shoulder at the Beltway.

7:50 A.M. Update:

There’s debris on the inner loop of the Beltway at Annapolis Road. The lanes are reportedly still open, but this could cause traffic issues.

An accident on MD-295 South at Kenilworth Avenue/MD 201 is blocking one of the shoulders.

A disabled vehicle on the inner loop of the Beltway at Braddock Road is blocking the right shoulder.

7:30 A.M. Update:

The accident on eastbound Leesburg Pike at Marshall Drive has been cleared and all lanes reopened. Expect some lingering delays if you’re heading that way.

7:25 A.M. Update:

The outer loop of the Beltway is very delayed approaching Greenbelt due to the accident at Kenilworth Avenue. The off-ramp remains closed and the accident scene could be in place through most of the rush hour, so expect delays and problems for the rest of the morning.

7:15 A.M. Update:

An accident on eastbound Leesburg Pike/VA 7 at Marshall Drive is blocking all eastbound lanes. This is between the Beltway and I-66, so expect major delays approaching that spot and seek alternate routes.

The accident on the outer loop of the Beltway at Kenilworth Avenue is blocking the right off-ramp.

6:50 A.M. Update:

An accident on the outer loop of the Beltway at Kenilworth Avenue isn’t reportedly blocking any lanes right now, but it could still cause delays.

There’s also an accident reported on the inner loop of the Beltway on the Maryland side of the Woodrow Wilson Bridge.

MARC Brunswick Line train 872 is running 16 minutes late.

6:30 A.M. Update:

The debris in the road on I-95 North at the exit for the Intercounty Connector/MD 200 has been cleared and the lanes reopened.

Original Post:

Good morning, commuters! We’ll be keeping an eye on the roads and rails this morning, reporting any delays or issues — and we will need your help. If you hear about any congestion, delays, problems or anything at all, tell us in the comments section below or by tweeting @drgridlock.

It’s going to be the muggy kind of day that you wear more than you feel, according to the Capital Weather Gang. And rain is likely, though not until the afternoon and evening.

So far:

— Debris in the road on I-95 North at the exit for the Intercounty Connector/MD 200 is blocking one northbound lane and one of the shoulders.

— There’s also some debris on the outer loop of the Beltway at the Branch Avenue exit. It could cause delays, though no lane closures are reported yet.

— There were Orange Line delays heading to New Carrollton due to a train malfunction at Stadium-Armory, but those delays have cleared, according to Metro.
