Monitoring the Friday morning rush: I-66 East reopened at Glebe Rd., delays remain

9:35 A.M. Update | I-66 East still slow in Arlington

I-66 East remains sluggish approaching Glebe Road, where an earlier accident temporarily blocked all lanes earlier this morning. All lanes are open, but the delays do remain.

An accident on the outer loop of the Beltway near the G.W. Parkway is blocking the left shoulder and could lead to delays there.

9:25 A.M. Update | Georgia Ave. ramp reopens

The accident on northbound Georgia Avenue at the Intercounty Connector has been cleared and the right off-ramp to the connector has reopened.

9:20 A.M. Update | Accident on Connecticut Ave. and K St. NW

An accident on Connecticut Avenue and K Street NW is blocking one lane on K Street, so expect delays around that intersection.

9:10 A.M. Update | Accident cleared in D.C.

The accident at South Capitol Terrace and Atlantic Street SW has been cleared, according to police.

9 A.M. Update | Outer loop accident cleared, Georgia Ave. ramp blocked

The disabled vehicle on the outer loop of the Beltway at Branch Avenue has been cleared.

The accident on northbound Georgia Avenue at the Intercounty Connector is still blocking the right off-ramp to the connector.

8:45 A.M. Update | I-66 East delays remain

The crash on I-66 East before Glebe Road has been cleared from the shoulder, but major delays remain for eastbound traffic heading that way.

8:35 A.M. Update | Accidents in Md., D.C.

A disabled vehicle on the outer loop of the Beltway at Branch Avenue is blocking the right deleceration lane and one of the shoulders.

An accident on northbound Georgia Avenue at the Intercounty Connector is blocking the right off-ramp to the connector.

An accident at South Capitol Terrace and Atlantic Street SW could creat delays. Police are en route now.

Also, police report that signals are flashing in all directions at 26th Street and Benning Road NE. Use caution heading that way.

8:15 A.M. Update | I-66 East reopens at Glebe Rd.

An accident on I-66 East before Glebe Road was blocking all lanes before, but the crash has been moved to the shoulder. Heavy delays remain approaching this spot.

8 A.M. Update | Accident blocking lane on 15th Street in NW DC

An accident at 15th and G streets NW is blocking one northbound lane on 15th Street.

7:40 A.M. Update | I-66 East lanes blocked at Glebe Rd.

An accident on I-66 East before Glebe Road is blocking all lanes and only the right shoulder is getting by. Delays are already heavy and are only getting worse.

7:15 A.M. Update | I-95 North lanes reopen

The accident on I-95 North at the Prince William Parkway (before Woodbridge) has been cleared and all lanes reopened. Heavy delays remain for northbound traffic.

7:10 A.M. Update | Disabled vehicle on I-95 South

A disabled vehicle on I-95 South before Occoquan is blocking the right shoulder.

7:10 A.M. Update | I-95 South lanes reopen

The southbound I-95 just after Quantico has been cleared and all southbound lanes reopened. Some delays remain, but they are clearing up.

6:55 A.M. Update | I-95 North lanes still blocked

The accident on I-95 North at the Prince William Parkway (before Woodbridge) is still blocking the left lane. The right two lanes are open, but prepare for heavy delays.

6:40 A.M. Update | No reported train delays

There are no reported delays for Metro, MARC or VRE trains right now.

6:35 A.M. Update | I-95 South lanes blocked

An accident on southbound I-95 just after Quantico is blocking the two left lanes. Delays are beginning to build.

6:30 A.M. Update | I-95 North lanes still blocked

The accident on I-95 North at the Prince William Parkway (before Woodbridge) is still blocking the two left lanes and creating backups. H.O.V. lanes are not affected.

Good morning, commuters! We’ll be keeping an eye on the roads and rails this morning, reporting any delays or issues — and we will need your help.

We’re in for yet another day of lovely temperatures, with light winds, sun and only a bit of heat, according to the Capital Weather Gang.

So far this morning:

— An accident on I-95 North before Woodbridge is blocking the left two lanes and the left shoulder.

— An accident on the outer loop at U.S. 1/Baltimore Avenue, which was blocking multiple lanes earliert this morning, has been cleared and all lanes reopened. Some delays are lingering, but they are also clearing up.
