I-66 East lanes blocked in Arlington

8:35 A.M. Update:

The accident on eastbound I-66 at George Mason Drive is still blocking two lanes and the left shoulder. Traffic is only getting by on the right shoulder. There are heavy, heavy delays, so try to avoid this stretch.

8:25 A.M. Update:

A disabled vehicle on eastbound I-66 before Lee Highway in Centreville is blocking the right center lane.

An accident on southbound Sully Road/VA 28 near the ramp to I-66 East is blocking the left lane and left shoulder.

8:15 A.M. Update:

An accident on eastbound I-66 at George Mason Drive is blocking two lanes and the left shoulder. Traffic is only getting by on the right shoulder. Expect major delays.

8:05 A.M. Update:

An accident on the westbound Southeast-Southwest Freeway at the I-395 North exit is blocking the far right lane, according to police.

An update from the Metropolitan Police Department: The 1200 block of Taylor Street is closed in Northwest Washington, not in Northeast, as the police initially reported.

7:50 A.M. Update:

An accident on Massachusetts and New Jersey avenues NW is slowing traffic there. The center lane in the 600 block of 2nd Street NW is temporarily blocked, so use caution around this spot.

7:30 A.M. Update:

The 1200 block of Taylor Street NE is closed due to a suspicious package, according to D.C. police. Try 12th Street, 13th Street or Michigan Avenue instead.

The debris has been cleared from the outer loop of the Beltway after the exit for the Anacostia Freeway.

7:20 A.M. Update:

A disabled vehicle on the inner loop of the Beltway at Braddock Road is blocking the right shoulder.

Debris on the outer loop of the Beltway after the exit for the Anacostia Freeway could slow traffic there.

Congestion is starting to slow traffic on I-395 North at Washington Boulevard.

7:10 A.M. Update:

A disabled bus on Canal and Foxhall roads NW is blocking the left northbound lane.

6:55 A.M. Update:

A disabled vehicle on westbound I-66 at the Beltway is blocking the right shoulder.

6:40 A.M. Update:

Metro says normal service has resumed on the Blue and Yellow lines.

6:25 A.M. Update:

A disabled vehicle on the outer loop of the Beltway at Braddock Road is blocking the right shoulder.

6:10 A.M. Update:

There are delays on the Blue and Yellow lines heading to Largo Town Center and Mount Vernon Square, respectively. This is due to an earlier train malfunction at King Street.
