Delays on the Red Line

8:30 A.M. Update:

There are going to be residual delays on the Red Line for a while due to the earlier train malfunction at Bethesda. Both Red Line tracks are back in service and the disabled train is moving, but trains are going to hold as they return to the normal schedules, according to Metro.

An accident on I-95 North before the Fairfax County Parkway is blocking the right lane and right shoulder.

A disabled vehicle on westbound I-66 after George Mason Drive is blocking the left lane.

An accident on southbound U.S. 29/Columbia Pike at Musgrove Road in Fairland is blocking one southbound lane, one of the southbound shoulders and the southbound right acceleration lane. This is just south of the Intercounty Connector.

Expect to encounter increased congestion on eastbound I-66 at the Teddy Roosevelt Bridge this morning. We’ve received reports of a broken-down vehicle earlier this morning and an accident there. No lanes are reported as blocked right now, but still expect issues.

8:22 A.M. Update:

Trains heading to Shady Grove are holding on the Red Line. Some trains are being offloaded at Friendship Heights to turn back to Glenmont, according to Metro.

The disabled train at Bethesda is being offloaded right now.

8:12 A.M. Update:

Red Line trains are single-tracking between the Friendship Heights and Van Ness stations, according to Metro. Expect delays in both directions.

8:10 A.M. Update:

A disabled train at Bethesda is going to cause delays for Red Line trains bound for Glenmont.

ART buses on routes 45 and 77 are both running 10 minutes late this morning due to traffic, according to Arlington Transit.

The accident on westbound U.S. 50 after Collington Road/MD 197 has been cleared from the shoulder.

7:50 A.M. Update:

The disabled vehicle on westbound I-66 before Chain Bridge Road has been cleared from the shoulder.

An accident on the outer loop of the Beltway south of G.W. Parkway is blocking the right shoulder.

An accident on westbound U.S. 50 after Collington Road/MD 197 is blocking one of the shoulders.

7:30 A.M. Update:

An accident on the inner loop of the Beltway after I-66 is blocking the left shoulder.

The accident on I-95 North in Woodbridge has been cleared from the shoulder.

7:10 A.M. Update:

The accident on eastbound I-66 after the Beltway has been cleared from the right shoulder.

The accident on the outer loop of the Beltway at the Clara Barton Parkway has also been cleared from the shoulder.

6:50 A.M. Update:

An accident on the outer loop of the Beltway at the Clara Barton Parkway is blocking one of the shoulders.

An accident on I-95 North in Woodbridge is blocking the right shoulder.

A disabled vehicle on westbound I-66 before Chain Bridge Road is blocking the left shoulder.

6:30 A.M. Update:

I-95 North is very slow before the Springfield Interchange.

6:20 A.M. Update:

Eastbound I-66 is fairly congested around Chain Bridge Road, where a disabled vehicle is still blocking the right shoulder.

We’re in for another lovely day today, thanks to a mild breeze, lots of sunshine and highs in the 60s, according to the Capital Weather Gang.

— A disabled vehicle on eastbound I-66 at Chain Bridge Road is blocking the right shoulder.
