Red Line delayed in both directions

8:35 A.M. Update:

Delays continue on the Red Line in both directions due to the earlier signal problem at Fort Totten.

An accident on VA 193 near the ramp to Dulles Toll Road is blocking the right outside lane and right shoulder.

8:15 A.M. Update:

There are Red Line delays in both directions due to a signal problem at Fort Totten.

8 A.M. Update:

An accident on westbound U.S. 50 at Collington Road is blocking one of the shoulders.

7:52 A.M. Update:

An accident on Virginia 193 at Old Dominion Road in Great Falls is blocking the eastbound and westbound traffic lanes; it’s unclear if traffic can still get by on the shoulders, but avoid the area if possible.

7: 45 A.M. Update:

More on the shooting and road closure in Chinatown: The 700 block of 7th Street NW is closed, according to the D.C. police.

7:30 A.M. Update:

Seventh Street NW is blocked near F Street due to a shooting that happened shortly before 6 a.m. Read more over at Crime Scene.

7:20 A.M. Update:

An accident on VA 28 near Frying Pan Road is blocking the right lane and right shoulder. Expect delays approaching that area.

7 A.M. Update:

I-66 East is heavily delayed around Chain Bridge Road.

A disabled vehicle on I-395 North at Seminary Road is blocking the right shoulder.

6:40 A.M. Update:

A disabled vehicle on I-95 North at the Springfield Interchange could have created problems, but it has been cleared.

6:20 A.M. Update:

Police activity near 7th and H streets is creating detours for Metrobuses on routes 70, 74 and 79 in that area. The southbound 70 and 74 buses detour at 7th and H streets and resume their regular routes at 7th and F streets, while northbound buses 70, 74 and 79 detour at 7th and F streets and resume their regular routes at 7th and H streets. Buses on routes 80, P6, X2 and X9 could also see delays in both directions.

The week kicks off without any remarkable weather, according to the Capital Weather Gang. It’s going to be hot, but not horrifically hot. There could be rain, but not until later today.

MARC Brunswick Line train 870 is running 8 to 10 minutes late due to freight train traffic. Brunswick Line train 890 is following behind it and also running 8 to 10 minutes late.
