Dupont Circle station reopened

The Dupont Circle station has reopened, according to Metro.

9:25 a.m. Update | Dupont Circle stop closed

The Dupont Circle station is closed due to a high volume of water creating problems with the north entrance’s escalators, per Metro spokesman Dan Stessel. As the southern entrance remains closed for a nine-month rebuilding project, the northern entrance is the only escalator where riders can enter or exit the station.

Escalator technicians are working on the problem, but there’s no timetable for when the escalator will be repaired and the station reopened.

9:20 a.m. Update | Dupont Circle station closed

The Dupont Circle station remains closed due to a problem with the scalators. The station’s entrance escalators are experiencing problems due to the weather, according to Metro spokesman Dan Stessel.

9:15 a.m. Update | Two lanes now blocked on inner loop in Va.

The accident on the inner loop at the Dulles Toll Road is now blocking the right two lanes and right shoulder.

9:10 a.m. Update | Dupont Circle station inaccessible, trains not stopping there

Red Line trains are not stopping at the Dupont Circle station right now due to an escalator outage, which is also keeping riders from entering the station. Head to Farragut North instead, but expect crowding at that station.

9:02 a.m. Update | One lane still blocked on inner loop in Va.

9 a.m. Update | One inner loop lane reopens, two still blocked

The accident on the inner loop at the Dulles Toll Road is now blocking the right two lanes and right shoulder.

An accident has been reported on southbound I-295 at Eastern Avenue, according to D.C. police.

8:55 a.m. Update | Crash blocking inner loop lanes at Dulles Toll Rd.

A crash on Connecticut Avenue at Woodley Road NW could slow traffic there.

About 26 traffic signals are out in the area around Rockville Pike and Nicholson Lane. Remember to treat dark traffic signals as four-way stops.

A crash is blocking Belmont Ridge Road at Croson Lane in Dulles.

An accident on the inner loop of the Beltway at Leesburg Pike is blocking the right shoulder.

A disabled vehicle on I-95 South in Lorton is blocking the right shoulder.

A crash has been reported on the inner loop of the Beltway on the Maryland side of the American Legion Bridge.

8:15 a.m Update | Crash on North Capitol St. and New York Ave.

An accident at North Capitol Street and New York Avenue under the bridge on North Capitol Street could create delays there.

8:05 a.m. Update | I-66 East lanes open again

All I-66 East lanes are now open again near the Fairfax County Parkway, though the left shoulder remains closed. Expect delays.

Showers continue to soak much of the Washington region this morning, so expect that to slow your commute. Add extra time to your trip and be careful on area roads, sidewalks and at station platforms.

MARC train 892 is 10 to 12 minutes behind schedule.

7:15 a.m. Update | Disabled vehicle cleared from I-270 South

6:55 a.m. Update | I-66 East lanes reopen at Nutley St.

The accident on I-66 East at Nutley Street involving a tractor trailer is now just blocking the left shoulder. There are still reasonably heavy delays back to Chain Bridge Road, so expect a slow trek through this stretch.

6:53 a.m. Update | Lingering Red Line issues

The track problem outside Woodley Park has been resolved, but watch for residual delays in both directions on the Red Line.

6:45 a.m. Update | Red Line delays continue

Red Line trains continue to single-track between Van Ness and Dupont Circle due to a track problem near Woodley Park, creating delays in both directions.

6:35 a.m. Update | I-66 East delayed by crash at Nutley St.

The accident on I-66 East at Nutley Street involving a tractor trailer is blocking the left lane and left shoulder. Traffic is slow approaching this spot and passing the crash, so expect delays.

Good morning, commuters! We’ll be keeping an eye on the roads and rails this morning, reporting any delays or issues — and we will need your help.

The second day of October brings more humidity and warmth, in addition to scattered showers, according to the Capital Weather Gang. The showers could create some delays during the morning commute, so be prepared for that.

So far:

— Red Line trains are single-tracking between Van Ness and Dupont Circle due to a track problem outside Woodley Park. Trains are delayed in both directions.

— A disabled vehicle on the inner loop of the Beltway at University Boulevard is blocking one of the shoulders.
