Eastbound N.Y. Ave. blocked at North Capitol St.; accident slowing I-66 East in Arlington

8:35 A.M. Update:

The accident on eastbound I-66 near Sycamore Street is still blocking the right lane and causing major delays.

8:30 A.M. Update:

The sick customer on the Metro train at Rosslyn was a woman experiencing a seizure, and she has been taken to the hospital, according to Metro. There are residual delays on the Orange and Blue lines.

Eastbound New York Avenue remains blocked at North Capitol Street. Metrobuses on routes 80 and P6 are running 20 minutes late due to the accident.

8:20 A.M. Update:

An accident is blocking all eastbound lanes of New York Avenue at North Capitol Street. Expect major problems approaching this area.

Blue Line trains are also single-tracking between Arlington and Foggy Bottom, according to Metro. And Metro reports that the sick customer has been removed from the train at Rosslyn and that trains will resume normal operations soon.

8:18 A.M. Update:

Orange Line trains are single-tracking between Clarendon and Foggy Bottom due to a sick customer on a train at Rosslyn.

8:15 A.M. Update:

An accident on eastbound I-66 near Sycamore Street is blocking the right lane and snarling traffic.

Metrobus riders: Northbound R3 buses and eastbound F6/F8 buses are detouring at Adelphi Road and Calverton Drive due to a downed power line. They are all back on the regular route at Adelphi Road and Wells Parkway.

7:55 A.M. Update:

The accident on I-270 South at Shady Grove Road has been cleared from the shoulder.

The disabled vehicle on I-395 North at King Street has also been cleared from the shoulder.

The earlier accident on I-95 North before the Fairfax County Parkway has also been cleared from the shoulder there.

7:40 A.M. Update:

An accident on the inner loop of the Beltway near the Springfield Interchange is blocking the right shoulder.

An accident on eastbound I-66 at Sudley Road is blocking the left shoulder.

A disabled vehicle on I-395 North at King Street is blocking the right shoulder.

7:30 A.M. Update:

The accident on I-270 South at Shady Grove Road is now only blocking one of the shoulders. The two southbound lanes have reopened.

7:10 A.M. Update:

An accident on I-270 South at Shady Grove Road is blocking two southbound lanes and one of the shoulders.

Metrobus riders: Buses on routes W6 and W8 will detour at 12th and Robinson places in Southeast Washington. They will skip Bruce Street and resume the regular route at Stanton Road and Jasper Place.

6:50 A.M. Update:

The inner loop of the Beltway is sluggish around Gallows Road.

6:35 A.M. Update:

I-395 North is heavily congested before Seminary Road and Duke Street.

6:20 A.M. Update:

An accident on I-95 North before the Fairfax County Parkway is blocking the right shoulder.
