Logan Circle signals operational again

2:30 P.M. Update: DDOT reports that the signals are now operational. Officials said crews “installed a backup battery system” at the intersection and plan to do the same at Dupont Circle next week. DDOT is “adding backup power” to more than 100 intersections, they said.

8:35 A.M. Update:

Remember: The traffic signals at Logan Circle in Northwest Washington will be shut down at 10 a.m. The signals will be off for several hours while the system is upgraded, according to the District Department of Transportation. Traffic control officers will be there, but you should still avoid the circle to avoid the delays.

8:20 A.M. Update:

An accident on I-395 North at Seminary Road is blocking the right shoulder. There are already delays around this stretch, but they could worsen as drivers slow down passing this scene.

An accident on I-395’s reversible lanes at Glebe Road is blocking the left shoulder of the H.O.V. lane.

7:25 A.M. Update:

I-395 North is pretty backed up before the 14th Street Bridge. There are also plenty of delays around King Street and Seminary Road.

7:10 A.M. Update:

Illinois Avenue is closed between Gallatin and Farragut streets NW due to a smell of gas at 5012 Illinois Avenue, according to D.C. police. The 5000 block of 9th Street is also closed. Try using Georgia or Kansas avenues instead.

7:05 A.M. Update:

Capital Bikeshare commuters: The station at 15th and P streets NW is out of service for the next hour while the station is expanded.

7 A.M. Update:

I-95 North is very backed up before the Springfield Interchange.

The accident on I-395 North at Seminary Road is still blocking the right shoulder and causing some delays.
