Accident blocks two lanes on inner loop at Van Dorn St.

8:45 A.M. Update:

It's gray and gloomy throughout the region, with rain expected to pelt this morning and on through the day. If you’re just heading out, make sure to bring your umbrella, walk/drive/bicycle with caution and expect your commute to take a little longer than usual.

The accident on the inner loop of the Beltway at Van Dorn Street is still blocking the left two lanes. Expect major delays.

A disabled vehicle on the outer loop of the Beltway at Arlington Boulevard is blocking the right shoulder.

The accident on southbound Pennsylvania Avenue/MD 4 at Crain Highway/U.S 301 in Upper Marlboro has been cleared and all lanes reopened.

8:25 A.M. Update:

Metro reports that normal service has resumed on the Orange Line at Virginia Square. You should still expect some residual delays if you’re taking the Orange Line in Virginia any time soon.

The accident on the inner loop of the Beltway at Van Dorn Street is still blocking the left two lanes. Expect major delays.

8:10 A.M. Update:

MARC train 878 is running 20 to 25 minutes late.

The disabled Orange Line train is on the move from Virginia Square, according to Metro. There are still residual delays in both directions on the Orange Line.

8 A.M. Update:

An accident on the inner loop of the Beltway at Van Dorn Street is blocking the left two lanes and left shoulder.

An accident on I-95 South near the Fairfax County Parkway is blocking the right lane and right shoulder at the off-ramp.

7:50 A.M. Update:

Orange Line trains are single-tracking between Ballston and Clarendon due to a disabled train outside of Virginia Square. Expect major delays in both directions.

7:45 A.M. Update:

The accident on southbound Pennsylvania Avenue/MD 4 is now blocking one of the southbound lanes at Crain Highway/U.S 301 in Upper Marlboro. The other lane has reopened.

7:30 A.M. Update:

The accident on I-66 East at the Beltway is back to only blocking the right lane.

A disabled vehicle on the inner loop of the Beltway at the Leesburg Pike is blocking the right shoulder.

An accident on I-395 North at Edsall Road is blocking the right shoulder.

7:15 A.M. Update:

The accident on I-66 East at the Beltway is blocking the right two lanes now.

MARC Brunswick Line train 892 is running 10 minutes late.

7 A.M. Update:

An accident on I-66 East at the Beltway is blocking the right lane.

Southbound Pennsylvania Avenue/MD 4 remains blocked at Crain Highway/U.S 301 in Upper Marlboro

6:35 A.M. Update:

An accident on southbound Pennsylvania Avenue/MD 4 is blocking all southbound lanes at Crain Highway/U.S 301 in Upper Marlboro. Traffic is being diverted onto Crain Highway.

The accident on southbound B.W. Parkway at Annapolis Road has been cleared and all lanes are open. There are still pretty heavy delays stretching back from this point to the Beltway.

MARC Brunswick Line train 874 is running 15 minutes late. It’s delayed by signal problems, according to the Maryland Transit Administration.

Good morning, commuters! We’ll be keeping an eye on the roads and rails this morning, reporting any delays or issues — and we will need your help. If you hear about any congestion, delays, problems or anything at all, tell us in the comments section below or by tweeting @drgridlock.

After a nice couple of days, we’re in for another wet one, according to the Capital Weather Gang. Showers are likely, and the morning commute will be particularly wet. This could cause serious delays out there, so be prepared and commute with extra caution.

So far:

— An accident on the southbound B.W. Parkway at Annapolis Road is blocking the right lane. The left lane is still open. Delays are already pretty heavy and only getting worse.

— A disabled vehicle on I-95 South near the Fairfax County Parkway is blocking the right shoulder of the on-ramp.
