Outer loop lanes reopen in MD

8:30 A.M. Update:

A large truck is reportedly stuck at the entrance to the northbound Third Street Tunnel. Watch for potential delays.

The accident on the outer loop of the Beltway between U.S. 50 and Landover Road in Maryland is on one of the shoulders. The outer loop lanes that were closed for much of the morning have all reopened.

8:22 A.M. Update:

The accident on the outer loop of the Beltway between U.S. 50 and Landover Road in Maryland is now only blocking one of the shoulders. All outer loop lanes have reopened.

8:20 A.M. Update:

An Orange Line train heading to New Carrollton has off-loaded at Court House due to a mechanical issue.

8:10 A.M. Update:

The accident on the outer loop of the Beltway between U.S. 50 and Landover Road in Maryland is now blocking one outer loop lane and one of the shoulders. Three outer loop lanes are open and moving, but expect delays.

7:55 A.M. Update:

MARC Brunswick Line train 876 is running 12 to 15 minutes late.

The accident on the outer loop of the Beltway between U.S. 50 and Landover Road in Maryland is still blocking two outer loop lanes and one of the shoulders. Expect heavy delays.

7:30 A.M. Update:

The Dupont Circle Metro station will have no descending escalator today. There will be two up escalators, while the center escalator will be stationary (in other words, it will become stairs).

The elevator is available for people who can’t walk down the escalator, but make sure to let people with real need use the elevator.

Another idea: Use Farragut North instead.

7:10 A.M. Update:

The accident on the outer loop of the Beltway between U.S. 50 and Landover Road in Maryland is still blocking two outer loop lanes and one of the shoulders. This has been in place for all of the morning commute thus far, so expect to encounter severe delays.

6:50 A.M. Update:

All MARC Brunswick Line trains will now board passengers from the normal tracks at the Rockville, Garrett Park, Kensington and Silver Spring stations.

6:30 A.M. Update:

The accident in Howard County on I-70 West at Sykesville Road has been moved to the shoulder.

Original Post:

Good morning, commuters! We’ll be keeping an eye on the roads and rails this morning, reporting any delays or issues — and we will need your help. If you hear about any congestion, delays, problems or anything at all, tell us in the comments section below or by tweeting @drgridlock.

We’re in for “a refreshing June day,” according to the Capital Weather Gang. The forecast calls for a light breeze, lower humidity and fewer clouds.

So far:

— An accident on the outer loop of the Beltway at Glenarden Parkway is blocking two outer loop lanes and one of the shoulders. This is between U.S. 50 and Landover Road in Maryland.

— An earlier acident on the outer loop at University Boulevard has been cleared and all lanes reopened there.

— In Howard County, an accident is blocking I-70 West at Sykesville Road.

— All MARC Brunswick Line trains will board passengers from the opposite track at the Rockville, Garrett Park, Kensington and Silver Spring stations this morning. This is due to track work and various speed restrictions.
