4:45 P.M. Update:
Some streets in downtown D.C. are blocked after a police officer was struck by a car.
Police said someone involved in the accident suffered injuries that are not life-threatening, but they declined to provide additional details.
According to authorities, the following streets are blocked: 14th Street NW between Pennsylvania and New York and F Street between 13th and 15th.
This closures are likely to have a major impact on downtown traffic during the commute home. Drivers should seek alternate words.
10:30 A.M. Update:
The accident on U.S. 29 and Franklin Avenue has been cleared.
9:30 A.M. Update:
U.S. 29 now has one lane open in each direction getting past the accident at Franklin Avenue. Expect delays in both directions and on Franklin Avenue.
8:35 A.M. Update:
An accident on U.S. 29 (Columbia Pike/Colesville Road) at Franklin Avenue in Silver Spring is blocking all eastbound and northbound lanes. Avoid that area.
An accident on westbound I-66 at the Beltway is blocking the right shoulder.
An accident in the 4800 block of Connecticut Avenue NW is blocking two southbound lanes and one northbound lane. Try using Wisconsin Avenue, Reno Road or Linnean Avenue instead.
An accident in the 2300 block of Pennsylvania Avenue SE is blocking one westbound lane.

The vehicle fire on the inner loop of the Beltway at Central Avenue has been cleared from the right off-ramp.

An accident on 17th Street and Benning Road NE is blocking one westbound lane on Benning Road. Avoid that intersection.
The disabled vehicle on the outer loop of the Beltway at I-66 has been cleared from the right lane.

A disabled vehicle on the outer loop of the Beltway at the Leesburg Pike is blocking the right shoulder.

The pedestrian who was reported as struck at New Mexico and Nebraska Avenues NW apparently fell while crossing the street, according to D.C. police. The northbound lane on New Mexico Avenue NW has reopened.
7:15 A.M. Update:
A disabled vehicle on the inner loop of the Beltway at Gallows Road is blocking the right shoulder.
An accident on I-95 North at the Prince William Parkway is blocking the right shoulder.
7 A.M. Update:
I-95 North is fairly backed up at the Springfield Interchange.
There are also delays on I-395 North at Seminary Road.
6: 50 A.M. Update:
The accident on the inner loop of the Beltway at G.W. Parkway has been cleared from the right shoulder.
6:45 A.M. Update:
A pedestrian was struck at New Mexico and Nebraska Avenues NW. One northbound lane on New Mexico Avenue NW is blocked.
6:20 A.M. Update:
Eastbound I-66 is already pretty congested at the Beltway. It’s also crowded approaching Lee Jackson Highway/U.S. 50.
