Beltway delays in VA, MD

8:30 A.M. Update:

An accident on the outer loop of the Beltway between the Prince George’s County line and New Hampshire Avenue could snarl traffic there.

The accident on the outer loop before Rockville Pike has been cleared.

The inner loop of the Beltway is heavily backed up at I-66.

Eastbound I-66 is slow approaching Glebe Road in Ballston and, to the west, at Nutley Street and Sudley Road.

8:05 A.M. Update:

There’s an accident on the outer loop of the Beltway before the Rockville Pike exit. It’s only blocking the shoulder, but it could cause delays.

7:40 A.M. Update:

I-395 North is all kinds of congested at Edsall Road, which is causing delays back to the Springfield Interchange. And I-95 North is still backed up at the Fairfax County Parkway, which means that entire area could be bad news if you’re heading there right now.

7:20 A.M. Update:

I-66 East is backed up at Nutley Street now as well as Sudley Road.

7:05 A.M. Update:

The inner loop of the Beltway is congested around Gallows Road.

I-66 East is backed up at Sudley Road.

6:40 A.M. Update:

There are heavy backups on I-95 North beginning south of Occoquan and again at the Fairfax County Parkway.

Original Post:

Good morning, commuters. It’s going to be warm today, but far less humid and much less miserable out there, according to the Capital Weather Gang.

We’ll be keeping tabs on any headaches, issues or problems we hear about on the roads this morning. Let us know anything you see out there — tell us in the comments below or via Twitter (@DrGridlock).

So far:

First Street is closed in Northeast Washington between M and L streets, according to Alert DC. M Street is closed southbound and L Street is closed northbound at this spot. New York Avenue and North Capitol Street are also closed in Northeast due to power outage repairs. Avoid this area if possible.
