Prepare for a rainy, slow A.M. commute

8:45 A.M. Update:

Traffic is moving very slowly on I-395 North at the 14th Street Bridge and around King Street.

The inner loop of the Beltway is a mess approaching Leesburg Pike.

The disabled vehicle on eastbound I-66 at the Beltway has been cleared and the right lane and right shoulder reopened.

Accidents on Reservoir Road and MacArthur Boulevard NW and Georgia Avenue and Howard Place NW could cause headaches in those areas.

8:25 A.M. Update:

A disabled vehicle on eastbound I-66 at the Beltway is blocking the right lane and right shoulder.

There is an accident in the 1200 block of Massachusetts Avenue NW that will snarl traffic in that vicinity.

An accident on 7th Street and Constitution Avenue NW could cause delays there.

8:10 A.M. Update:

An accident on North Capitol and I (Eye) streets in Northwest Washington is blocking the right southbound lane.

7:55 A.M. Update:

Expect delays stemming from an accident on 9th Street and southbound I-395 in Southwest Washington, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

7:50 A.M. Update:

The accident at South Capitol and Atlantic streets in Southeast Washington is still slowing traffic there.

The accident on I-395 North before Washington Boulevard has been cleared from the left lane.

The disabled vehicle on the inner loop of the Beltway at Leesburg Pike has also been cleared from the left center lane.

7:35 A.M. Update:

The disabled truck on the outer loop of the Beltway after the New Hampshire Avenue exit has been cleared and the lane reopened.

There’s reportedly an accident in the 9th Street Tunnel. The direction is unknown, but expect issues if you’re heading this way.

7:20 A.M. Update:

An accident on I-270 North before West Montgomery Avenue is blocking one of the shoulders.

An accident on I-395 North before Washington Boulevard is blocking the left lane.

A disabled vehicle on the inner loop of the Beltway at Leesburg Pike is blocking the left center lane.

7:05 A.M. Update:

An accident on North Capitol and L streets in Northwest Washington is blocking one southbound lane on North Capitol Street.

An accident on the northbound 11th Street Bridge in the left lane is goign to cause delays.

Watch out for problems around South Capitol and Atlantic streets in Southeast Washington. An accident there could cause traffic issues.

A disabled truck on the outer loop of the Beltway is blocking one lane after the New Hampshire Avenue exit.

An accident on the outer loop of the Beltway at Bradley Boulevard is blocking one of the shoulders.

6:45 A.M. Update:

The right lane and right shoulder have reopened on I-95 North at Prince William Parkway. There’s still some congestion around this spot.

The inner loop of the Beltway is backed up around Gallows Road right now.

An accident on I-395 North at Duke Street is blocking the right shoulder.

A disabled vehicle on the inner loop of the Beltway at Braddock Road is blocking the left shoulder.

6:25 A.M. Update:

An accident on I-95 North at the Prince William Parkway is blocking the right lane and right shoulder.

6:10 A.M. Update:

An accident on I-395 North at King Street is blocking the right shoulder of the H.O.V. lanes.

Good morning, commuters! After several nice and sunny days, rain returns to the region today, according to the Capital Weather Gang. There will be showers on and off most of the day, so make sure to bring an umbrella and use extra caution when driving, walking and riding a bicycle.
