Original Post:

Good morning, commuters! We’re in for another gray, foggy and rainy day, according to the Capital Weather Gang. We’ll be keeping an eye on the roads and rails this morning, reporting any delays or issues — and we will need your help: If you hear about any congestion, delays, problems or anything at all, tell us in the comments section below or by tweeting @drgridlock.

This morning also marks the opening of the new segment of the Intercounty Connector. Dr. Gridlock wrote a user’s guide to the new stretch, a 10-mile segment that creates highway connections at Layhill Road, New Hampshire Avenue, Route 29/Columbia Pike, Briggs Chaney Road and at I-95. The new stretch is scheduled to open at 6 a.m. The toll road is going to be free (over the entire connector, not just the new segment) through Dec. 4.

Drivers are already very curious about whether or not the connector will be useful for them. We’ll have more on this throughout the morning, so keep an eye on the Dr. Gridlock blog and @drgridlock.
