Rainy weather could slow later part of A.M. commute

9:15 A.M. Update:

The accident at 33rd and M streets NW continues to snarl traffic in Georgetown.

An accident on 19th and N streets NW is going to cause delays around that intersection.

There’s also an accident reported at Wisconsin and Western avenues NW.

And watch out for a crash reported at Missouri Avenue and North Capitol Street.

8:55 A.M. Update:

The accident on 33rd and M streets NW is causing big delays in Georgetown, so expect problems if you’re heading there.

An accident on Florida and New York avenues NE is also reportedly causing delays.

8:40 A.M. Update:

A disabled vehicle on the outer loop of the Beltway at Arena Drive could cause issues.

An accident at 33rd and M streets NW will slow traffic approaching that spot.

There’s also an accident at Georgia Avenue and Sheridan Street NW.

Eastbound I-66 is badly backed up at the Teddy Roosevelt Bridge.

8:20 A.M. Update:

An accident on I-395 North at the 14th Street Bridge could cause problems for northbound travelers.

An accident has been reported on Texas Avenue and Burns Street SE.

8:10 A.M. Update:

A disabled vehicle on the outer loop of the Beltway north of U.S 50 (in Maryland, not in Virginia) is blocking one lane.

An accident in the 100 block of Sumner Road SE could cause serious delays approaching that area.

There’s also an accident at 42nd Street and Benning Road NE and another one reported at Eastern and Michigan avenues NE.

8 A.M. Update:

The accident on westbound U.S. 50 at Collington Road is now blocking one of the shoulders, but all westbound lanes are open again.

7:55 A.M. Update:

A pair of accidents have been reported in Northwest Washington: One is at Georgia Avenue and Juniper Street, while the other is on Connecticut Avenue and I (Eye) Street.

The accident on westbound U.S. 50 at Collington Road is now blocking all westbound lanes.

7:40 A.M. Update:

There’s an accident on North Capitol and L streets in Northeast Washington.

The accident on I-95 North after Dumfries and before Dale City has been cleared and all lanes reopened.

7:30 A.M. Update:

The accident on westbound U.S. 50 at Collington Road is blocking three lanes and one of the shoulders.

An accident could slow traffic around 4th Street and McMillian Drive in Northwest Washington.

7:20 A.M. Update:

An accident on westbound U.S. 50 at Collington Road could cause problems there.

7:15 A.M. Update:

The accident on I-395 North at the 14th Street Bridge has been cleared.

An accident on the inner loop of the Beltway north of I-66 is blocking the left lane.

7 A.M. Update:

The accident on I-95 North after Dumfries and before Dale City is still blocking the right lane and right shoulder.

An accident on Piney Branch and Blair roads in Northwest Washington is apparently blocking or slowing traffic around that intersection, according to the District Department of Transportation.

6:50 A.M. Update:

The accident on the outer loop of the Beltway before the Rockville Pike has been cleared.

6:40 A.M. Update:

An accident on I-395 North at the 14th Street Bridge could slow traffic approaching that spot. There are no injuries reported at this time.

The inner loop of the Beltway is slow between Braddock and Gallows roads this morning, according to a report from a commuter.

Good morning, commuters! This is going to be the “messiest day of the week,” with rain beginning this morning and downpours in the afternoon, according to the Capital Weather Gang. That means it will likely be a tricky day for commuters.
