Rainy weather could snarl commute

8:35 A.M. Update:

I-95 North is still sluggish approaching the Springfield Interchange, but delays have eased a bit from earlier this morning.

I-66 East is still slow approaching the Beltway and the Teddy Roosevelt Bridge.

I-395 North is pretty backed up near Washington Boulevard.

An accident on Suitland Parkway and Firth Sterling Avenue in Southeast Washington could cause delays.

8:15 A.M. Update:

There’s an accident at Benning Road and East Capitol Street in Northeast. Expect delays.

7:55 A.M. Update:

I-66 East is backed up at the Teddy Roosevelt Bridge and the Beltway.

The accident in the 3rd Street Tunnel has been cleared up.

An accident on northbound South Capitol Street near Malcolm X Avenue in Southeast could slow traffic there.

7:45 A.M. Update:

There’s an accident in the southbound 3rd Street Tunnel. Try to avoid it if you can.

7:20 A.M. Update:

The right shoulder has reopened on I-95 North at the Springfield Interchange. All lanes have reopened there, but the roadway is still very, very backed up.

7 A.M. Update:

The accidents on the outer loop of the Beltway in Maryland north of Annapolis Road and after the I-270 Spur have both been cleared.

An accident on the Virginia side of the inbound 14th Street Bridge could seriously delay traffic around there.

The I-95 North right lane has reopened at the Springfield Interchange, while the shoulder is still closed. Delays remain approaching that spot.

6:35 A.M. Update:

Northbound I-95 is heavily backed up approaching the Springfield Interchange. The left lane and left shoulder are blocked, so these delays could be there for some time.

6:25 A.M. Update:

An accident on northbound I-95 at the Springfield Interchange is blocking the left lane and left shoulder. Expect this to slow traffic approaching the interchange.
