Storms could slow P.M. commute

Storms could arrive in the Washington area later this afternoon in time for the commute home. The Capital Weather Gang reports that a severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for the region through 8 p.m., and it’s possible that large thunderstorms with destructive winds could hit this afternoon and early evening.

If this nasty weather materializes, that could lead to major problems for commuters. Keep your eye on PostWeather.com for the latest weather information. We’ll be tweeting any major headaches or problems from @drgridlock, so make sure to follow our tweets in this blog post or on Twitter. Let us know what you see out there — and be safe heading home.
