Expect plenty of showers and storms today, according to the Capital Weather Gang. Rain is possible this morning, and it’s even more likely this afternoon and evening.

So far:

— D.C. Fire Department activity has blocked eastbound U Street between 15th and 17th streets NW, while 16th Street is also closed between T and U streets NW. Avoid this area and expect this to create some delays nearby. Also, watch for delays on Metrobuses running on routes 90, 92, 93, 96 and X3.

— Expect some delays on Blue Line trains heading to Largo. These delays are lingering following an earlier train malfunction outside of Van Dorn Street.

— MARC Brunswick Line train 892 is going to run with one car less than normal because of a mechanical issue. Expect crowding on the remaining cars this morning. A car will be added to this train for its afternoon service.

— An accident on the inner loop of the Beltway at the I-95 split near College Park and Beltsville is blocking one lane on the right off-ramp.
