U.S. 50/301 repair work begins

The Maryland Transportation Authority plans to repair a section of eastbound U.S. 50/301 between the toll plaza and the Bay Bridge beginning Tuesday night with paving work.

Officials said the work will be performed during during off-peak hours and require some lane closures.

The eastbound span is scheduled to close from 11 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday and from 9 p.m. Saturday to 8 a.m. Sunday, with two-way travel in effect on the westbound span.

The work is sceduled to continue through Nov. 4, weather permitting. Officials said crews are also continuing bridge preservation work that will require additional overnight closures of the eastbound span this fall.
