Congestion on eastbound I-66 at Beltway

8:30 A.M. Update:

There’s some congestion on eastbound I-66 at the Beltway. It’s slow going after Cedar Lane, but appears to ease considerably inside the Beltway.

For traffic heading into the District from Virginia: The 14th Street Bridge, Teddy Roosevelt Bridge and Key Bridge all look like they are pretty smooth right now. Not sure how long that will last, but traffic looks decent right now.

8:15 A.M. Update:

The disabled vehicle on eastbound I-66 has been cleared.

7:45 A.M. Update:

A scan of the traffic cameras around the region shows something unusual for this time of the day: Traffic on the Beltway is moving rather smoothly everywhere. There’s very mild congestion in Maryland near Bethesda, but no serious delays, no backups and no visibile congestion.

I-66 East is pretty slow approaching the Beltway. The disabled vehicle on eastbound I-66 is still blocking the right shoulder jus east of Chain Bridge Road.

Also in Virginia: I-95 North is pretty slow as you get closer to Backlick Road.

7:25 A.M. Update:

A disabled vehicle on eastbound I-66 is blocking the right shoulder jus east of Chain Bridge Road.

7 A.M. Update:

The inner loop accident has been cleared.

I-95 North is still very sluggish approaching Newington, and those delays are only going to get worse as the morning continues.

6:35 A.M. Update:

An accident on the inner loop of the Beltway before the exit for Pennsylvania Avenue is blocking the shoulder.

6:15 A.M. Update:

The disabled vehicle on southbound I-395 has been cleared.

So far:

A disabled vehicle on southbound I-395 is blocking the right shoulder at the King Street exit.

I-95 North is already pretty slow approaching Newington.
