Work will narrow a stretch of S. Capitol St. SE to one northbound lane next week

Traveling north on South Capitol Street SE will be particularly difficult next week, as construction work will narrow the roadway to one lane for several days.

DC Water will leave only one northbound lane open on the stretch of South Capitol Street SE between Anacostia Drive and the Suitland Parkway. The work, which will begin on Monday and last through Thursday, shouldn’t impact southbound traffic.

Traffic signs will alert drivers, but you should expect delays and congestion approaching this area.

This work is part of the Clean Rivers Project.
