I-95, I-66 delayed in VA

8:45 A.M. Update:

Eastbound I-66 is jammed up approaching the Teddy Roosevelt Bridge. It’s also slow approaching the Beltway.

As usual, I-395 North is congested at the 14th Street Bridge.

I-95 North is very slow approaching the Springfield Interchange, and the right lane and right shoulder remain blocked shortly before that spot.

An accident in the 1000 block of L Street could slow traffic near that spot in Northwest Washington.

8:25 A.M. Update:

An accident on I-95 North shortly before the Springfield Interchange is blocking the right outside lane and right shoulder.

8:10 A.M. Update:

Delays have eased somewhat on northbound I-95 at the Springfield Interchange. Traffic is still backed up, but not as badly as earlier this morning.

7:50 A.M. Update:

An accident on 11th and M streets in Northeast Washington could cause delays in that vicinity, so try to avoid the intersection.

There’s also an accident at Kansas Avenue and Peabody Street in Northwest Washington.

7:30 A.M. Update:

There are multiple delays in Virginia as the morning rush gets underway on this cloudy and misty Wednesday. A lot of these are headaches at the usual trouble spots, but still worth noting:

— I-95 North is sluggish near Woodbridge and very backed up approaching the Springfield Interchange.

— I-66 East remains jammed up near the Beltway, as it has been for most of the morning so far.

— I-395 North is starting to see congestion near the 14th Street Bridge and, further south, around the Duke Street and Seminary Road exits.

— The inner loop of the Beltway is slow near Telegraph Road and approaching I-66.

7:15 A.M. Update:

An accident on northbound I-295 before Malcolm X Avenue was blocking the left lane briefly this morning. All lanes are open now, with all activity on the shoulder, according to the District Department of Transportation.

There’s an accident on Georgia and Arkansas avenues in Northwest Washington.

6:50 A.M. Update:

I-95 North is very backed up approaching the Springfield Interchange.

6:25 A.M. Update:

There’s some congestion on I-395 North just north of the Springfield Interchange.

6:05 A.M. Update:

Eastbound I-66 is already very backed up at the Beltway, which is bad news for Virgina commuters. Once that roadway gets jammed, it tends to stay that way for the rest of the rush hour.

A tractor trailer accident on I-66 East at the Beltwa is blocking the left shoulder, which could be adding to the delays.
