The Friday forecast calls for no showers and pleasant temperatures today, according to the Capital Weather Gang, so that’s a nice change from the rain we’ve experienced this week.

Crash closes I-95 North in Triangle

An accident on I-95 North after Joplin Road in Triangle is blocking northbound lanes and creating major backups. Head to U.S. 1 if you can and expect delays.

I-95 South lanes reopen in Laurel

The crash on I-95 South at Sandy Spring Road has been cleared and all lanes reopened.

A crash on I-95 South at Sandy Spring Road is blocking one southbound lane and one of the shoulders.

Major MARC Camden Line delays

MARC Camden Line train 852 is now running an hour behind schedule due to the single-tracking still slowing all northbound MARC Camden Line trains. 

Crash cleared from Roosevelt Bridge

There was a crash reported on the Roosevelt Bridge, but it has been cleared, according to D.C. police.

MARC Camden Line delays continue

All northbound MARC Camden Line trains can expect delays of at least 20 to 25 minutes due to single-tracking, but some of the delays appear to be worsening. MARC Camden Line train 842 is now running 40 to 45 minutes behind schedule. 

Crash on I-95 North at Springfield Interchange

An accident involving a tractor trailer on I-95 North at the Springfield Interchange is blocking the right shoulder. Expect the crash to exacerbate delays around this spot, which is reliably crowded and slow at this point in the morning commute.

Disabled vehicle, crash cleared

The disabled vehicle on the ramp connecting South Capitol Street and I-295 has been cleared, D.C. police report. So has the accident on the 14th Street Bridge.

Prince George’s fire department responds to false call about a Metro train and pedestrian

The Prince George’s County Fire Department responded to a 911 call about an incident involving a pedestrian and a Metro train near the West Hyattsville station, but it turned out to have been a fake report. 

The fire department checked out the scene and found nothing. It was a “malicious, false 911 call,” said Mark Brady, spokesman for the fire department. 

Delays for northbound MARC Camden Line trains

All northbound MARC Camden Line trains will be at least 20 to 25 minutes late this morning, the Maryland Transit Administration reports. This is due to heavy freight train congestion near Jessup, which has caused single-tracking between Savage and Jessup.

Crash reported on 14th Street Bridge

An accident on the 14th Street Bridge has been reported, according to D.C. police. We don’t know the direction or if any lanes are blocked yet. 

Disabled vehicle at South Capitol St. and I-295

A disabled vehicle on the ramp connecting South Capitol Street and I-295 could create delays there, according to police. 

Disabled vehicle on I-95 South

A disabled vehicle on I-95 South in Lorton is blocking the right shoulder. 

Eastbound U.S. 50 lane blocked in Chantilly

An accident on eastbound U.S. 50 at Plaza Lane in Chantilly is blocking the eastbound left lane and left shoulder.

MARC delays

7:30 A.M. Update:

Train 840 is still running 20 to 25 minutes late. It will board riders on the opposite track at Muirkirk. 

MARC Brunswick Line train 892 is also running 15 to 18 minutes behind schedule.

Rolling Road is closed in both directions at Northumberland Road in Newington due to an accident.

No commuter rail delays right now

There are no reported delays for Metro, MARC or VRE trains right now. 

I-66 East slowing down in Centreville

Heavy traffic is beginning to build on I-66 East in Centreville, and this congestion is slowing things down for eastbound commuters. Expect delays heading this way. 

Crash on U.S. 50 in Falls Church

An accident on westbound U.S. 50 at Graham Road in Falls Church is blocking the eastbound right shoulder.

Debris on U.S. 50 in Md.

6:28 A.M. Update: The debris has been cleared from the road. 

Original Post: Debris on westbound U.S. 50 at the Martin Luther King Jr./MD 704 exit could create delays there. No lane closures have been reported yet. 

South Glebe Rd. blocked in Arlington

South Glebe Road is closed between South Hayes and South Joyce streets in Arlington due to an accident. The southbound lanes should reopen early this morning, but the northbound lanes could remain closed until noon.
